Graduate Programmes in the Department of International Relations

The Department of International Relations has two graduate programmes: M.Sc. with Thesis and Ph.D. These programmes aim to improve students' command of the theoretical and methodological debates in International Relations (IR) and develop their research capacity to enable them to examine the most recent and core developments in international politics. Apart from the compulsory courses, students are given a high level of flexibility to pursue their own research interests by selecting courses from a wide range of elective courses. The M.Sc. and PhD programmes also encourage interdisciplinary studies in line with the diverse research interests and academic strength of the faculty. They are designed to meet not only the needs of students planning to pursue academic careers in IR but also of professionals from state institutions, international and non-governmental organizations, and the private sector aiming to enhance their expertise in the area of international politics.
